Designing Culture

How we can help

A strong culture doesn’t happen by chance – it’s intentionally designed. We work closely with your organisation to co-create a culture that aligns with your strategic goals, supports business performance, and enhances the employee experience.

Creating company culture usually starts after our Insight stage using our Culture Assessment™ tool, Assessment for Innovation Maturity and/or some insight that you already have internally. Taking this insight, which will show your ‘as is’ culture today (the bits that work as well as the bits that don’t), we then look at your strategic goals and current leadership capability, and support you to design the culture, behaviours and people experience that you will need to achieve your aims and create an aligned, cohesive culture to future-proof your business.

The culture design phase requires a mix of skills and expertise; it’s really where behaviour change meets Employer Brand, EVP, Internal Communications and Human Resources.

Typical Design Outputs include:

  • Articulating your company mission and vision and company values (or equivalent). This can be at a top level or at a subsidiary/regional entity level
  • Defining leadership skills, behaviours and mindset that are required to lead the new culture, as well as identifying what’s missing today and developing them to bridge the gap
  • Defining the behaviours, skills and mindset for all employees from high level through to full competency frameworks and skills matrices to be used in performance management
  • Creating an engaging strategic narrative of why this change is happening and what’s required from your people to make it a success
  • Developing and implementing a full plan for communicating culture change to employees
  • Developing an Employee Value Proposition (EVP), essentially the promise of the ‘give and get’ between employer and employee that will drive the Employee Experience
  • Designing the culture dashboard and KPIs that we will use to measure your culture’s performance metrics over time

In partnership with our graphic design agency, we can also bring to life your employee experience and culture using visual assets.

FAQs

Culture isn’t a passive by-product of leadership style or company history – it’s an asset that can be intentionally architected to align with strategic priorities. Through culture assessment and structured design, we help you move from an ‘as-is’ to a ‘to-be’ culture that improves business performance, strengthens resilience, and enhances the employee experience, engaging people in the new expectations.
The culture design phase produces foundational assets: clear company values, a strategic narrative, leadership behaviours, and competency frameworks aligned to performance. These elements link your Employee Value Proposition (EVP) with everyday behaviours and decision-making, ensuring transformation is not just announced, but activated.
We work with clients to build a culture dashboard that tracks behavioural adoption, leadership modelling, and team-level engagement. These KPIs are integrated into business performance reviews to ensure cultural goals carry the same weight as financial outcomes.
Culture design is a proactive approach that nurtures a culture from the ground up. Culture change is a reactive process that transforms an existing culture to align with business goals.
